Entering adulthood is a significant step. It is a time filled with unique possibilities. However, it can also leave you feeling overwhelmed, lost, and uncertain. Many young adults experience an identity crisis when they try to reconcile the labels and expectations others placed on them. Differences in the roles and expectations from family members, friends, and society can create feelings of self-doubt and pressure to conform. Seeking support from a therapist can help you navigate this transition and reach your full potential.
As a therapist who is trained to support young adults navigate this unique phase of life, I will work with you to help you better understand your own identity. Together we can explore the experiences that have brought you to where you are today, and I can help you evaluate what is truly important to you. Maybe you’ve noticed certain patterns that you no longer want in your life, or maybe you feel like you’re not the kind of person who can do the things you want to do. You want to feel confident and thriving, but something is in the way.
In my work with clients, I blend together elements of Solutions Focused Therapy, which helps clients uncover their strengths and goals, Narrative Therapy, which welcomes clients to write or re-write their own life story, and Parts work, which allows clients to fully explore all of their own values and perspectives. I believe that every person is uniquely qualified to address their own challenges. Using a person centered approach, I can support you through understanding yourself, your identity, and your potential.
