Parent Process & Support Group

A 7-Week Support Group for Parents Seeking Connection, Insight & Community

About the Group

Parenting can be deeply meaningful — and deeply overwhelming. Many parents find themselves feeling stressed, isolated, or unsure how to respond when emotions and behaviors feel bigger than expected.

The Parent Process & Support Group is a closed, 7-week, clinician-facilitated support group designed to help parents slow down, reflect, and connect with others navigating similar challenges — without judgment or pressure to “do it right.”

This group offers space to share experiences, build awareness, and feel less alone in the realities of parenting, while engaging in guided discussion and peer support in a confidential setting.

Who This Group Is For

This group may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel stressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally depleted as a parent

  • Are navigating behavioral or communication challenges with your child

  • Feel isolated in parenting or crave more community and support

  • Want space to reflect, learn from others, and feel understood

  • Are open to sharing, listening, and engaging with peers

Parents of children of all ages are welcome.

This group is open to the public — you do not need to be an existing client to participate.

What You Can Expect

Over the 7 weeks, the group will explore themes such as:

  • Building emotional safety and group connection

  • Understanding parental stress cycles and triggers

  • Recognizing family-of-origin patterns that shape parenting

  • Identifying personal parenting strengths and assets

  • Improving communication and emotional attunement

  • Navigating burnout, setbacks, and self-compassion

  • Strengthening support systems and community

  • Reflecting on growth and planning next steps

Sessions offer a blend of guided discussion, reflection, and shared learning in a supportive, confidential environment. The group is not a parenting class or psychotherapy group, but a space to build awareness, insight, and connection alongside other parents.

Group Structure & Participation

  • Format: This is a closed, small-group experience with a maximum of 10 participants, with the same participants meeting together for the full 7 weeks to support consistency, trust, and group cohesion.

  • Expectations:

    • Willingness to engage, listen, and reflect

    • Sharing is encouraged but always voluntary

    • Respect for group confidentiality and boundaries

  • Confidentiality:
What is shared in group stays in group. Confidentiality is essential to creating trust and safety for all participants.

Facilitating Clinicians

The group is facilitated by Dr. Megan Dozler, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (supervised by Victoria Rohrer), and Jenny MacGunagle, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
