Victoria Rohrer, M.S.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #110700

Victoria “Vicky” Rohrer (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#110700) and co-owner of Sonoma Valley Family Therapy. She obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling from California State University, Sacramento in 2014. Her bachelor’s degree in Psychology was awarded by Dominican University of CA in 2008. Vicky spent four years working for a county program (CAPE) providing short-term counseling and crisis intervention services for teens and adults.  This provided invaluable experience supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harm, homiciality, grief/loss, identity issues and trauma.

Vicky decided to start her own therapy practice in 2019 to help people in Sonoma access services closer to home and to allow herself to live a more authentic and balanced life.  In 2021, Vicky and Kimmy decided to join forces to meet the growing mental health needs of the Sonoma Valley community.  Our goal is to become the go-to practice where all members of a family system can receive care for their mental health and contribute to the healthy relationships they desire.

Vicky has a passion for working in collaboration with young people by providing a safe therapeutic space to explore their strengths, challenges, relationships and to ultimately help clients achieve their goals. Vicky is a trauma-informed therapist, a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, and specializes in working with teens and women around challenges with codependency and finding their voice.  Vicky believes in creating a mutual alliance built upon honesty, genuineness, integrity, consistency, trust, respect and a little laughter too. Vicky primarily adheres to a Person-Centered counseling approach but often brings other techniques and interventions as needed, for example, Brainspotting, CBT, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, Family Systems, etc.

Vicky has a separate consulting business where she works as a Therapeutic Educational Consultant.  She specializes in making personalized recommendations for out-of-home residential treatment programs for teens and young adults who are in need of more intensive mental health and educational support.
