Kerry Allan is the School Clinician for the Sonoma Charter School and sees clients at SVFT. Kerry completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley and holds a second MA in Philosophy and Religion from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. She has experience volunteering as a Social Worker with the Homeless Garden Project in Santa Cruz, providing counseling and assistance to adolescents and adults struggling with homelessness, substance use and various mental health challenges. As a Counseling Intern at El Cerrito High School, Kerry offered individual and group therapy to high school students. Throughout her education and clinical experience, Kerry has worked with folks in various stages of crisis, as well as, navigating life transitions, bullying, anxiety, depression, financial pressure, gender identity and expression, existential crises, suicidality, relationship issues and much more.
Her greatest goal as a therapist is to help clients connect with their own immense internal wisdom, and learn how to have it guide them toward more joy and well-being. Through compassion and reflective listening, Kerry strives to encourage clients to let go of self-doubt and limiting beliefs and to reconnect them with their most authentic self.
Kerry provides an integrative and holistic approach to therapy, drawing upon somatic awareness, mindfulness practices, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, humanistic/transpersonal traditions and various expressive arts. Kerry aims to offer compassionate, ethical, multicultural, trauma-informed care. Kerry is a warm and humorous person who is dedicated to providing a safe, judgment-free space where clients can explore and process life as it happens.
